A Brazilian mans strange writings and a 16th-century philosopher sound like the makings of a weird horror movie. Although full of horror, the disappearance of a Brazilian man is not a movie but an unfortunate reality. Bruno Borges went missing on March 27 and has not been seen since.

The psychology student’s vanishing attracted international attention when footage of his room was made public online. What the footage showed caused a frenzy of conspiracy theories and ideas to spread around the world.

The things that filled his room were strange writings and diagrams that completely covered his walls from floor to ceiling, 14 notebooks filled with strange writings with roman numerals adorning the covers. Those things were unusual to find but perhaps the most usually was the large statue of Giordano Bruno. Giordano Bruno was an Italian Renaissance philosopher known for his theories about spaceand the . The philosopher was killed for heresy in 1600 after supporting the Copernican system of astronomy which believed the Sun was the center of the solar system. The resemblance and strange writings have people wondering if and what the connection could be. The virtual world was set ablaze after people starting saying they noticed a resemblance between Bruno Borges and Giordano Bruno.

“It is easy to accept what you have been taught since childhood and what is wrong. It is difficult, as an adult to understand that you were wrongly taught what you suspected was correct since you were a child,” the passage allegedly says, according to the Mirror.

 

More confusion and speculation was sparked when a portrait of the missing man standing with what seems to be an extraterrestrial being was found. Others viewers of the video focused their attention on the strange writings that were on his walls. Some of the writings were found to be Bible verses and others were quotes and phrases from Leonardo da Vinci. Some believe that the diagrams and pictures look like pentagrams although nothing has been confirmed yet.

His mother said that in 2013 he started his work and became intensely involved in it during the past year. She believed that he was writing 14 books that were going to change mankind for the better, at least that is what her son told her. His mother has reasons to believe this is not a normal missing person case.

Social media accounts have been setup in attempts to locate the missing man for anyone who has information that could help the investigation. There are also accounts dedicated to trying to make sense of the writings and objects found in his room.

The young man was declared missing after his father entered his son’s room and saw what was in there. Previously, the door was kept locked and nobody besides Bruno went inside.

While the case is confidential, the leading investigator, Fabrizzio Sobreir, said that all possibility will be considered.
